Web Developer & Designer Jack Lyons

I love building custom websites for clients all around the world! Contact me today for your next online project.

Hi, I’m Jack. I’m a front end web developer currently freelancing and contracting commercially while travelling around the world. With an extensive background in marketing and promotions I’ve seen some large scale and rather rapid changes towards richer, more intricate web and application based campaigns. When clients started asking for custom made websites, I decided it was time to dive head first into modern website and web app development.

Over the past 2 years I have really taken a liking to JavaScript and modern web frameworks like Angular. I thoroughly enjoy the problem solving nature of programming and love working with others to find optimal solutions for a more enjoyable web experience. I have worked on a variety of personal and commercial projects using a range of development styles, which you can find in my portfolio.

If you would like to hire me as your next web developer, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me via the contact page located in the navigation bar above.

My web development stack

Here are some of the languages and skills that I use to build your sites and modern web applications.

HTML 5

HTML5 is the latest evolution of the standard that defines HTML. The term represents two different concepts: It is a new version of the language HTML, with new elements, attributes, and behaviors, and a larger set of technologies that allows more diverse and powerful Web sites and applications.

CSS3

CSS3 is the latest evolution of the Cascading Style Sheets language and aims at extending CSS2.1. It brings a lot of long-awaited novelties, like rounded corners, shadows, gradients, transitions or animations, as well as new layouts like multi-columns, flexible box or grid layouts.

JavaScript & ES6

JavaScript is the programming language of HTML and the Web. ES6 is the latest version of the ECMAScript standard and is a significant update to the language. I love writing JavaScript code in ES6: it’s simple, clean, powerful and also very popular with Angular2 and React.

Vue.js

Vue (pronounced /vjuː/, like view) is a progressive framework for building user interfaces. Unlike other monolithic frameworks, Vue is designed from the ground up to be incrementally adoptable. The core library is focused on the view layer only, and is very easy to pick up and integrate with other libraries or existing projects. It is very fast and extremely efficient; taking the best parts of React and Angular 1.

Node js

Node JS

Node.js is an open-sourcecross-platform JavaScript run-time environment for executing JavaScript code server side. Node.js enables JavaScript to be used for server-side scripting, and runs scripts server-side to produce dynamic web page content before the page is sent to the user’s web browser.

Angular2

Angular is a development platform for building mobile and desktop web applications that allows you to build features quickly with simple, declarative templates. It is gaining worldwide popularity very quickly and is set to become the “go to” framework in 2016.
